DAY NURSERY LUISENKITA

The playground from the 1990s adjacent to the ancient listed church Luisenkirche on Gierkeplatz by Karl Friedrich Schinkel has been completely redesigned: The result is a playground structure defined by oak trunks, climbing ropes, various wooden platforms, a playhouse and a nest swing. A broad wooden walkway separates planting beds and sand surfaces. On both entrances, small lounge areas for educators and community members were created. The playground equipment exclusively designed for this historic setting harmoniously blends in to the scenery with the Schinkel church in the centre. It allows a variety of play-experiences for the children of the Protestant day nursery.
