The special feature of this project was an unusually strong topographical character of the property. The planning height of the outdoor facilities is up to 3 meters above the level of the Gleimstraße. The existing wall of the Mauerpark forms a striking spatial edge and, together with the surrounding buildings, creates a sheltered, almost intimate garden back yard situation. The walls of the former underground car park were to be deconstructed and the existing brick wall uncovered. The concrete base remained intact and was integrated into the outdoor layout. From the small square on Gleimstrasse an open staircase with a ramp for bicycles and prams leads into in the garden courtyard. Free access for the fire service vehicles is guaranteed by paths that surround the garden court and divide it into different zones. The aim of the planning was to integrate the fire brigade areas harmoniously and unobtrusively into the garden design. The heart and the meeting point of the new residential complex forms a sand play area. At a reasonable distance from the apartments there is a paved area for table tennis.
