CITY SQUARE SOUTH / FRANKFURT ODER

Multifunctional public town square in the urban redevelopment area Frankfurt (Oder) South. The urban space between a shopping center and a retirement home, which was created by shifting Leonow Street and giving up a car park, was designed as a multi-functional square in two stages. The adjoining social facilities can easily be reached by pedestrians via the car-free square. 1.stage: shifting of Leonow Street with ongoing development of the Südring Center 2.stage: reshaping of the square and other open spaces, completion of the play areas.
Participation of the local district center, the housing companies, a retirement home, neighboring schools and day-care centers within a town hall meeting in the design stage.
